Superyacht 71-Autumn 2021

The new Maiora 30 Convertibile is an every season flying bridge superyacht which sports as Maiora tradition has it, all of the capabilities to satisfy owners’ growing requests thanks to totally customisable interior volumes.

The new Maiora 30 Convertible is the perfect example as to what extent the shipyard is dedicated in building a made to “measure” superyacht for its owner. The yacht’s exterior lines remain almost the same, the interiors are truly unique highlighting Maiora’s Centro Stile and its capacity – in this case working with Fossati Design Bureau – to interpret and deliver every owner’s wishes.

he furniture comes from some of the latest editions of Italian brands and some of it has been specially designed for this yacht which sports a modern yet sophisticated atmosphere where works of art are visible in low profile style. Brushed and painted oak flooring stands out from lacquered egg shell and glossy ceiling panels. Smoke and brown block wood colouring is liberally used for the bulkheads in perfect contrast with beds’ white skin upholstery and marble lining the bathrooms.

The owners have several options to choose from accordingly. Guests are welcomed in the cockpit area on the owner’s special request which is also equipped as an “al fresco” dining space with a curtain in the stern which delivers shade accordingly and privacy from onlookers’ eyes. The living room area is often brightened up with loads of natural light thanks to floor to ceiling glass panels which comprise a made to measure sofa for two from which to enjoy the sight of the sun set as it dips into the sea or to watch an interesting programme on a television set which is hidden behind a painting by a well known contemporary artist.

Some of the bulkheads are lined with wood strips and mirrors which enhance a sense of accrued space. Proceeding forward toward the bow we come to the owner suite and versatile bathroom since it can easily convert into a Turkish bath.

The central area of this deck comprises the crew’s galley, mess room and direct access to their quarters on one side while on the other there’s a staircase leading to both the upper deck and the lower one with two VIP cabins, and two doubles all with bathrooms “en suite”.

A 50 square metre Sky Lounge is situated along the upper deck. A section of this can be used as a movie theatre space thanks to a pop up television set and an area in which to dine. On the same deck but further toward the bow we come to a modern helm controls station equipped with side winglets to improve visibility while manoeuvring . The whole of this area can be shut to best exploit air conditioners . Of course when opened up the glass panels disappear behind the furniture revealing a terrace in the stern which sports a collection of sun pads and bean bags. To ensure an even greater sense of privacy it is always – weather permitting – possible to revert to the top of the hardtop where another area is equipped to host tan fans.

For those opting for water sports there’s an elegant set of steps leading from the cockpit to the beach area entirely dedicated to having fun and to relax. To this end the garage has been relocated along one of the aft topsides. It can contain a six metre tender while a hydraulic crane further forward is used to launch and recover another tender measuring three metres and a water craft.

Twin MTU 16V2000M96L engines with an output of 2,600 HP each is capable of propelling this 30 Convertible to more than 27 knots. With a range of 1,600 nautical miles at 10 knots. Latest generation stabiliser fins are deployed to guarantee accrued stability across the yacht’s entire speed range but also to increase comfort when lying to an anchor.
