Superyacht 67-Autumn-2020

The British yard Princess yachts is moving ahead with renovating its current historic range with futuristic out of the ordinary models.

The yard has been involved in investment plans for two years aiming to seize other sectors of the Luxury yachting market. However the brand is doing wellwith its more conventional range, it has also kicked off with its planned innovation process which has seen the birth of exclusive models like the small R35 runabout and this futuristic X95 Superfly. Bernards Olenski who’s been contributing precious input to Princess Yachts for years has collaborated in project design work for this latest model with the Italian Pininfarina design studio. The X95 Superfly is this yard’s answer to growing requests from owners for crossover models, in other words a yacht which harmoniously blends comfort and the space of a cruiser with the quality and safety of an explorer.

Something similar is happening in the automotive industry which is producing robust cars with great visibility coupled to dedicated luxury. The X95 Superfly sports an innovative design featuring fluid lines that connect the decks to one another separated only by floor to ceiling glazed doors, which is both practical and functional.

“X95 is another bold new concept for Princess Yachts. Borne from our aggressive investment strategy into new technology and world-class design. The X Class creates an entirely new segment, representing another significant step in our new product programme. We continue to push the boundaries of yacht design and build a brand leadership position in the luxury yacht market”, said Anthony Sheriff, Executive Chairman –Princess Yachts.

One of this yacht’s main features is space: both the fly version named Super Flybridge and the interiors of the main deck extend for nearly the whole lrngth of the yacht, registering a 10% to 40% accrued external and interior spaces when compared to a traditional yacht of the same size.
Since the interiors are flexible and versatile they can be easily adapted to be configured time after time to the necessities of the moment which can be for lively parties of visiting guests or maybe transformed into private areas and more. From whatever view point you look at this, it is thanks to the deck’s extension to the bow area measuring about 18 metres in length that lends itself to any configuration.

The first unit launched offers plenty of space for a more traditional decor with on entry a a large living room area, a coffee corner, with sea view, a separate galley and the owner’s suite with a 270° panoramic view.
As an alternative you can opt for a more entertaining solution where the owner’s suite double as movie theatre, or a less formal one with a large living room and open plan galley with an island positioned in the middle offering breakfast with a 270° view of the sea.

The sky lounge is situated on the upper deck with the pilothouse which can be completely shut off from other areas thanks to sliding doors. It is equipped with the latest technological findings offered on the market. From the sky lounge which is furnished with comfortable sofas you can access the flybridge which houses a dining area fo eight and a flexible area which can double as a lounge furnished with free standing furniture. The fly’s exteriors extend beyond the pilot house, where you will find a large living room area furnished with a “U” shaped sofa and large sun pads or a hydro-massage pool. The Super Flybridge version is nearly 22 metres long which is a lot more than what is offered by traditional yachts.

Guests’ night quarters and the crew’s are situated below deck. Two full beam doubles are amidships and in the bow, they’re separated by other guest cabins with single or double beds.

Designed to cruise over long distances, the X95 sports a completely new hull design which is 15% more efficient than a traditional one. It is equipped with twin MAN V12 engines which translate into a top speed of about 24-26 knots. Thanks to a fuel tank capacity of 13,400 litres, the yacht’s range is considerable.
