Superyacht 72 – Winter 2021-2022

At the 2021 Cannes Yachting Festival, Sanlorenzo Yacht showed the new flagship of the SL range, the SL120A, which is currently the flagship of the shipyard’s entire Asymmetric fleet.

Sanlorenzo Yacht and the well-known Zuccon International Project proceed their fruitful collaboration. At the 2021 Cannes Yachting Festival, they presented the new SL120A and SD118, both prosecutors of the new asymmetrical layout proposal.

The SL120A, where the “A” stands for Asymmetric, is the new flagship of this line, as well of the SL range, and is a yacht that fully expresses the functionality offered by this innovative design idea, whose appreciation by owners testifies to its absolute validity.
Based on an idea from the car designer Chris Bangle, Sanlorenzo and the Zuccon studio have created a new concept of habitability that allows the guests to exploit the full potential of the interior volumes, increasing the standards of comfort during their journey on board.

The SL120A, which in its exterior design remains faithful to the clean lines typical of Sanlorenzo’s yachts, takes advantages of this new configuration by adding additional 8 square metres to the already large internal living area, where this unit, in the warm tones of the chosen color scheme, offers an open space environment furnished with a large and comfortable freestanding sofa with a low table, three armchairs with two reading tables of the same design, and an elegant marble dining table for 8/10 guests embellished with a floral patterned wall. This whole area, thanks to the large glass, the starboard balcony and the foldable bulwark on the other side, offers its guests a magnificent feeling of constant dialogue with the surrounding nature, but at the same time offers the security of being sheltered from the external heat and from prying eyes.

The central pantry and the professional kitchen dived the main saloon from the owner’s suite. Here, the first unit launched has a bed with the headboard places towards the bow, above which a large skylight, which can be darkened by a curtain, allows the owner to enjoy natural light during the day and the view of the stars at night.

The environment is warm and welcoming, and is complete by a large toilet where marble stands out, a vanity and with a direct access to the external bow deck, where a large lounge is set up with a living and a large sunpad.

Four other guest cabins, all with “en suite” bathrooms, are located along the lower deck together with the crew quarters, to which an independent access is obviously dedicated. At the stern, once the tenders have landed, the hatch and the foldable sides create a beach club at sea level, a welcoming area where owners and guests can relax between a dip and a cocktail.

The upper deck can be reached from the staircase on the starboard side, leading to the helm station, in front of which we find another huge sunbathing area, and to the sun deck. Here, protected by a hard top, we find the external wheelhouse and a dining area, while on the aft extension, under the warm rays of the sun, elegant wooden deckchairs can be set up.

Obviously, given the sartorial philosophy of Sanlorenzo, layouts, furnishings and finishes are widely customisable, as well as the engine, which is offered in two variants: the first with a pair of 2,400 HP CAT, with which the yacht reaches 26 knots of top speed, and the second with two 2,637 HP MTUs, with which the top speed rises to 27 knots.
